RADAR: Ronic – Apple of My Eye

ronic

Netherland artist Ronic drops off his new afro inspired single “Apple of My Eye.”

Afrobeat has been a major genre around the world since Drake teamed up with Wizkid on his 2016 hit single “One Dane” and most recently “Come Closer.” Acts around the world especially in Europe have fully adopted the style and Ronic is one of the acts, adding that afro flavour to his latest single “Apple Of My Eye.”

“This is a song I made targetting the afrobeat market in the UK and the afrobeat market globally. I’m from the Netherlands and the UK sound has also entered our clubs. This is similar to songs such as Recognise by Vianni and Did You See by J-Hus. Which is a the reason for the autotune. I am not a heavy user of autotune and this is not something I will be doing often, rather a showcase of my versatility. I am a producer who decided to go beyond the beats.

I was looking for a catchy sound that will hopefully attract young listeners in the agegroup of 12 – 26 and basicly anyone with a taste for afrobeats/ carribean music and dancehall.”
