RassTokyo unleashes new video for “Rubber Bands.”
The catchy yet conscious offering sees Rass running for Prime Minister while spitting truths about the reality of life in the UK for young black British people. Rasstokyo perfectly highlights the hypocrisy with how the government and police deal with successful black youth with lyrics such as “We made 100 so they froze all our accounts, we’re young and black so they don’t like that amount, they think it’s fishy ‘cos the cheque doesn’t bounce, hmm… must be kilos or an ounce”.
Throughout the video as the election of Rasstokyo goes from strength to strength, he finally takes his rightful place as Prime Minister, he flexes outside 10 Downing Street once again making bold statements about the black experience in the UK. The video shot by Local Geezers (AKA Rufus Wilson and Jimi Da Killa), shows Rass in his element as an artist truly in his own lane, ready to take UK rap by storm in his own unique and unusual way. This one is truly an underground music fan’s dream.
