Remy Ma shares her anticipated single “Wake Me Up” with Lil Kim.
After much success over the past year working as a tandem with Fat Joe, Remy Ma is now shifting focus on her solo work. The Bronx rapper is now starting the campaign off for her upcoming new album, 7 Winters, 6 Summers. Setting it off in a major way, Queen Reminisce debuts the single “Wake Me Up” featuring Lil’ Kim. Produced by Cool And Dre, Smitty Beatz and 808 Ray, the song samples Lil’ Kim’s “Queen Bi**h” off her 1996 Hardcore debut album. While the Queen Bee handles the hook, Remy comes with some fiery verses, some sure to stir controversy.
“That crown I’m gon take that sh*t. Cause you a clown and homie don’t play that sh*t,” raps Remy, who some feel is a stab at Nicki Minaj. “I heard he lay that d***. You let them filet that fish. You just met him how he bae that quick?,” she continues, referring to Nicki’s relationship with Nas.
Remy Ma, newly signed to Columbia Records, is expected to release 7 Winters, 6 Summers in 2018. Directed by Eif Rivera, fans can expect the official music video for “Wake Me Up” to arrive in the coming days. Out now on iTunes, stream it below.
