Rick Ross Speaks On Meek Mill, New VH1 Show & Female Rappers on The Breakfast Club

Rick Ross Speaks On Meek Mill, Female Rappers & His VH1 Show ‘Signed.’

Rick Ross is taking over television.

On Wednesday (July 26), the MMG mogul will be joined by The-Dream and Roc Nation executive Lenny Santiago for “Signed,” a new competition series on VH1. Ahead of the premiere, Renzel stopped by “The Breakfast Club” to talk about the show.

“[VH1] gathered some of the best artists, male and female, from the U.S.,” he explained. “That’s what makes it unique. The artists we sign, we’re putting our own bread up. This is something we really believe in. This ain’t just something we doing for the episode check. Whoever we sign, you most definitely have the opportunity to sign to Maybach Music [Group], Radio Killa Records, or Roc Nation.”

But the road to stardom will not be easy, according to the Rather You Than Me MC. “We got a dope show,” he added. “Artists from all around the world, we got them doing a lot of different contests, performing live, we got them in the studio, [writing] on sight. Just coming up with different things…We really pushing them to the limit. We really trying to break them.”

“Signed” is set to premiere July 26 via VH1. Watch the rest of the Q&A and see quotes from the interview regarding Birdman, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, JAY-Z, and why Rozay has never signed a female rapper before below.
