Rick Ross might be a close industry pal of Jay Z but that doesn’t mean he can use copyrighted images of Hov at will. The MMG boss has been slapped with a lawsuit by a photographer who claims he jacked his work.
In the court docs, Armen Djerrahian says Rozay took a well-known photo of Jay throwing up the signature Roc sign back in 2003. The Carol City rapper used the snap in the music video for “Movin’ Bass” which features Jay Z.
It popped up in the aesthetics along with other photos of Jigga in a montage celebrating his success as an artist and mogul. Even though the flick taken by Djerrahian appears in the video for fractions of a second, the photog is suing Ricky for all the profits they made off using it and a court order to block them from further use. The music video for “Movin’ Bass” is currently unavailable via MMG’s official YouTube channel but you can view the photo in question below.
