Rocko Sues Future
Things aren’t A1 between Future and Rocko. The Freebandz CEO is now involved in a lawsuit, filed by his business partner on Wednesday (Jun. 8). Rocko, the Atlanta rapper/producer, is suing Future for over $10 million for breach of a contract dating back to 2011.
Continue after the jump….
TMZ reports in 2011, Future signed a contract with Rocko’s A1 Recordings, where his first six albums would be released under the label. Soon after, L.A. Reid and Epic Records signed a distribution deal with Future and Freebandz.
According to Rocko, the business relationship got sour after Future cut a side deal with Epic Records that landing him huge multi-million dollar advances, leaving Rocko out. The ATL veteran, best known for his hits “Umma Do Me” and “U.E.O.N.O,” accuses Future of cutting him out of the 25% commission he’s owed off the big advances Epic Records gave to Future.
Rocko states he is also owed 20% of Future’s earnings (touring, endorsements, merchandise) from the 360 deal he signed with A1 Recordings. Add it all up, Rocko is seeking over $10 million from the artist he discovered.
EDIT: Future took to Twitter a few hours after the news broke to express his thoughts.
