Even a rap traditionalist like Royce Da 5’9″ can’t deny the power of the Metro Boomin-assisted single from this generation’s Beatles, suggesting that the instrumental spoke to him on his new freestyle “Beats Keep Callin’.”
“Boujee” isn’t the only beat that’s been calling to the Detroit emcee, as he also applies his surgically precise rhymes to French Montana and Kodak Black’s “Lock Jaw,” flipping things halfway through. He sounds equally comfortable on the two instrumentals, proving that he can ride a more contemporary beat as much as he can a timeless DJ Premier record.
