Listen To Sam Sparro’s New Song “Pharma Karma.”
On the lead single “Pharma Karma” … In a nod to Prince’s “Sign of the Times” and Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”, Sparro asks if prescription drug peddling is “really so different than selling crack out on the corner?” Lo-fi beats, fuzzy guitars and erie choir vocals underscore this scathing opus about the “War on Drugs”. The track features fellow Australian soul crooner Daniel Merriweather and Maryland born MC Emoni Fela who raps “our answer’s always prison, instead of healing … we need that feeling”.
Sam Sparro’s latest work, Quantum Physical 3: Conspiracy, is the final installment in his self-produced EP series and due to hit retail on August 19 worldwide. This collection of songs about gun control, global surveillance, and social politics are presented in a moody soundscape of dark Pop, RnB, and Hip Hop – woven together with news reel audio clips and cinematic voiceover.
Sam first broke through with his Grammy nominated classic “Black and Gold” and his self titled debut album. The critically acclaimed follow-up Return To Paradise produced another international chart topping single “Happiness”. His collaborations with the likes of Mark Ronson, Basement Jaxx, Adam Lambert, Aluna George and Kylie Minoguehave further established him as one of the most exciting songwriters, producers and voices today.
