Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has linked up with acclaimed UK artist Donae’O and Idris Elba on new track ‘Party & Bullshit’, out now. This is the first release on Donae’O’s new Movin Anti label, which is a joint venture with Island records.
“Making and releasing my music has always been my first love but Movin Anti has given me the opportunity to release music from other artists. It allows me to take more of a background role and watch things flourish from a different position. I have to thank Island Records for the opportunity” says Donae’O. “I want to showcase acts that are extremely talented but maybe the world doesn’t recognise because it’s not packaged in a way they understand. I understand these acts though and I want Movin Anti to be the voice for those people to help them be heard.”
An infectious slice of Afrobeats, Ghanian rapper Sarkodie delivers the opening vocals to the smooth yet energetic track before Idris takes the stage with his deep, instantly recognisable tones. Donae’O then ups the ante even further by dropping his signature flow. Showcasing a raucous house party, the feel good official video ramps up the celebratory vibes even further, featuring all three features doing what they like to do best.
One of the biggest stars in Ghanaian music, Sarkodie has garnered numerous accolades over the years, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for ‘Artiste of the Decade’ and ‘Best International Flow’ at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta.
A producer, songwriter, rapper and vocalist, Donae’O has been an early adopter of almost all crucial urban movements coming out of the capital – from garage to grime to the UK funky-inspired house that continues to influence today’s charts.
In need of no introduction, Idris Elba juggles a blossoming music career with his status as one of the most sought-after actors on the planet. ‘Party & Bullshit’ marks his first release since singles ‘On Life’ and the global smash ‘Boasty’, a track that has amassed over 200 million streams across all platforms to date.
Cultivating a no-frills, feelgood vibe, ‘Party & Bullshit’ combines three multi-talented stars at the top of their game.
