Security Shot Outside Drake’s Mansion

Drake’s residence is at the center of a shooting investigation that resulted in one man being injured.

The incident, which occurred early Tuesday morning near the intersection of Bayview and Lawrence Avenues in Toronto’s upscale Bridle Path neighborhood, involved a drive-by shooting targeting a security guard stationed at Drake’s 50,000-square-foot home. The victim was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to his upper chest and was rushed to the hospital for surgery. Toronto police have reported that the suspect, whose description remains unknown, fled the scene in a vehicle following the shooting.

This unsettling event comes on the heels of a turbulent weekend marked by an escalating rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The exchange began with Kendrick’s release of “6:16 In LA,” to which Drake responded with “Family Matters.” Kendrick followed up with “Meet The Grahams” and “Not Like Us” the next day, prompting Drake to fire back with “The Heart Part 6” earlier this week.

Notably, this incident also echoes a recent shooting outside the Los Angeles home of The Weeknd’s manager, Amir “Cash” Esmailian, underscoring the concerning rise of violence in the music industry.
