Olasunkanmi Salaam a.k.a SKY NIGHTINGALE a graduate of the department of political science University of Ibadan was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He fell in love with music after listening to “sexual healing” by Marvin Gaye and “give it to me” by Rick James. SKY started singing in ’97 with an acapella group locally known as “da supreme boiz” and began writing his own lyrics in ’99 he decided to go solo in 2006. In 2008, he won the Mtn/Soundcity Campusblast musical competition held at the University of Ibadan and later went on the 2face & friends tour,
The name ‘SKY’ is simply a metaphorical expression that’s used to describe the level of his musical versatility and ‘NIGHTINGALE’ simply means a songbird. Sky Nightingale is currently signed to Pedigree Records.
