Spotify, DC, and Warner Bros. announced today that the all-new audio series Harley Quinn and The Joker: Sound Mind, starring Christina Ricci and Billy Magnussen, will launch with all episodes accessible to listeners on January 31, 2023. The 7-episode series, created and directed by Eli Horowitz (Homecoming), is Spotify’s second production with DC and Warner Bros. after Batman Unburied. Listen to the trailer.
The series follows Gotham City’s most notorious criminals, Harleen Quinzel and The Joker, played by Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets, Wednesday, The Matrix Resurrections, The Addams Family) and Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die, Made for Love). Dr. Harleen Quinzel, a newly graduated psychologist at Arkham Asylum, is motivated to heal the inmates her colleagues have written off. But her dad needs a life-saving procedure she can’t afford. Harleen is over the rules. When she meets “Patient J,” a captivating convict who can control everyone except her, Harleen takes a tragic decision: to exploit her friendship with The Joker to obtain what she wants, sending both of them down a perilous road that will transform them, Bruce Wayne (Justin Hartley), and Gotham City forever
The series will also star Amy Sedaris (The Mandalorian, At Home with Amy Sedaris) as Harleen’s Aunt Rose, Andre Royo (Empire, The Spectacular Now) as Arnold Wesker aka The Ventriloquist, Stephen Root (Barry, King Of The Hill) as Grunfeld, Fred Melamed (Barry, WandaVision) as Bob, Mary Holland (Senior Year) as Margaret Pye aka Magpie, and Elias Koteas (Goliath, Chicago Fire) as Grunfeld’s assistant.
