Exactly one week to the day, news leaked that J. Cole was planning a surprise for his dedicated fans in the form of a new album titled 4 Your Eyez Only. Following the release of the documentary Eyez, plus the two controversial bonus tracks, Cole World officially drops his new album.
Serving as the follow-up to the platinum selling 2014 Forest Hills Drive LP, 4 Your Eyez Only is an album the Fayetteville-native opens up on various social issues and touches on the 31-year-old diving into fatherhood, reportedly becoming the parent to a newborn daughter. Like 2014 Forest Hills Drive, the 10-song album is all solo cuts with no guest features, as J. Cole, Boi-1da, Vinylz, Caridak, Ron Gillmore and more handle production duties.
