Since breaking out in 2005 with his debut album, The Documentary, The Game has remained a fixture in, well… the game. Through the ups-and-downs, from steadily dropping high-quality albums to beefing with just about everybody, he’s managed to keep his name ringing for a decade straight. No matter what your opinion might be on him as a person, you’ve gotta respect the hustle and dedication.

Now, after countless delays and setbacks, The Game delivers the official sequel, The Documentary 2. Available on iTunes, the 19-track release features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Ab-Soul, Future, Kanye West, Dej Loaf, and a few others – with production from Bongo The Drum Gahd, DJ Premier, Dr. Dre (?), Mike WiLL Made It, will.i.am, Jahlil Beats, and more.

Are their name-drops? Of course. Does it matter? Not really. I mean, when you’re spitting this hard and proving you’re a true student of the game, why should it? The Game can rap – simple as that.

In case you missed the memo, The Game will also be releasing The Documentary 2.5 on October 16th. Set as a companion piece to TD2, the 17-track effort (18 if you count the Skrillex-assisted bonus track, “El Chapo“) boasts a star-studded lineup consisting of Anderson .Paak, Jay Rock, Nas, DJ Quik, King Mez, Jon Connor, Scarface, ScHoolboy Q, and many more – seriously, there’s only one track without a feature.
