The Surviving R. Kelly docu-series revealed some startling facts about the alleged abuse by the singer towards young women. The three-night, six-hour event in January this year made headlines for the exposing claims about the controversial singer by several victims involved.
While he awaits his trial in three different states, a sequel to the documentary has been announced, premiering on Lifetime on January 2 at 9pm. Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning takes a look at the events that transpired since the shocking facts revealed in the first one, how the families of the victims have reacted, the fall of his empire, his label RCA dropping him and more.
It also includes commentary from journalist Jim DeRogatis (responsible for breaking the story on his original child pornography case in 2000), industry execs Damon Dash and Mathew Knowles, #MeToo Founder Tarana Burke, actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, radio personality Angela Yee, and State’s Attorney for Cook County Kimberly M. Foxx and others.

It is alleged that that he paid off a government employee in 1994 to order to get a 15-year-old Aaliyah a fake ID so they could marry.
