Watch SZA Perform “Normal Girl” at Black Girls Rock! 2017.
Taped earlier this month, Black Girls Rock! 2017 made its television debut on Tuesday night (Aug. 23) on BET. Held at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey, the 11th annual show was hostged by actress Taraji P. Henson. Honoring black women who are making an impact in activism, entertainment, business, education and other fields, this year’s show shined the light on Maxine Waters (Social Humanitarian Award), Issa Rae (Star Power Award), Yara Shahidi (Young, Gifted and Black Award), Solange Knowles (Rockstar Award) and Roberta Flack (Living Legend Award).
TDE songstress SZA served as one of the night’s musical acts, taking to the stage to perform her CTRL-cut “Normal Girl.” Other performers who appeared during the celebration included India.Arie, Anthony Hamilton and Tyrese.
