T.I. releases the video to “Check, Run It.”
T.I. surprised us with a brand new EP, Da Nic, last night, and, today, he’s continuing the boss moves by releasing the video to “Check, Run It,” the EP’s lead single that he dropped last week. The League of Starz-produced late-night magic continues Tip’s return to his stripped-down trap house roots, which began with “Project Steps.” The simplicity of the hook is irresistible, but Tip also impresses with his super slick lyricism in between.
The video begins at a blacklight-lit house party, where T.I. comes equipped with the swagger and fashion of some of the younger members of his Bankroll Mafia clique. He’s then placed inside some sort of kaleidoscope, where things get real trippy. The video includes cameos from T.I.’s son as well as few fearsome reptiles.
