Birmingham-based rapper Tarju Le’Sano continues to push his bold new sound with the incendiary new single ‘Goaltend’, produced by the talented Casey Orange.

‘Goaltend’ is a fierce combination of rap, grime and drill, where Casey showcases his love for booming, trap-style percussion using 808s and a sample to create room for Tarju to bounce through perfectly. The track explores the choice of staying true Tarju’s own path in his career, with a true focus on developing his craftsmanship as a talented lyricist, performer & visionary.

The bouncy track is accompanied by a trippy new visual directed by Ellie Howard of 1709 Productions with animations provided by Tarju. The video concept is a marriage of influences from cartoons such as Space Jam and Rick & Morty.

“For me, Basketball has always been a cultural influence and I always wanted to express that through the metaphors relating to my life,” Tarju explains, “we literally came up with the beat and the concept on Casey’s sofa one night, then it shaped into this single.”

Over the years Tarju Le’Sano and Casey Orange have developed both a strong friendship and unique sound culminating in Tarju’s 0121 project ‘Digbeth Kids’ which is a collaboration with his peers from the Birmingham music scene. In 2020 he was nominated for Best Rap/Hip Hop Act at the Birmingham Music Awards, cementing himself as one of the most exciting artists to emerge from the bubbling city.
