Tayc, a major artist in the French Afro-R&B scene, is back with an acoustic rendition of his smash song “Room 69.”
His latest single, Room 96, has racked up almost 50 million streams, and its lead track, “Room 69,” has been certified gold in France thanks to its success there. In a project named after the year of his birth, the self-proclaimed “prince of Afrolov” returns to his R&B beginnings with a seductive EP influenced by the 1990s and featuring his distinctive blend of Afro and Soul music.
Room 69 (Acoustic) is a stripped-down version of the original slow groove, featuring Tayc’s alluring vocal range over a bed of light guitar, strings, and sensuous saxophone.
