One of the biggest collaboration efforts to come out of the UK music scene this year, “Badman” ft. SafOne, Sneakbo, and Ambush, is released by the Birmingham-based label The Maffia.
ready to swoop in and dominate Black British music The Maffia is led by one of the most creative musical creative directors in UK music, with a successful career spanning over 10 years. He has helped some of the UK’s top acts, like Lotto Boyzz, Mist, and Sneakbo, to develop their brands.
One of those records that only occasionally surfaces and is instantly recognisable is “Badman.” The track begins with Sneakbo, one of the most important figures in the UK scene, and is followed by Birmingham’s own heavyweight SafOne. SafOne’s frank lyrics contrasts Sneakbo’s wavering wavy flow followed by Ambush who comes in with his synonymous high octane greazy flow. The accompanying visual from the opening scene has a more film narrative than just a music video, with a storytelling aspect to it.
Speaking on the release Maf says “Bad Man is a representation of unity amongst different cities and a play on words where in our world everything said has a backwards meaning I.e “Bad Man” = “ A man who will do any / everything to win”
