Solange’s new album A Seat At The Table is near the top of the list of best albums that dropped in September. The unexpected album had features from Master P, Q Tip, André 3000, Lil Wayne, Sampha, Kelly Rowland, The-Dream and ton of others, but none overpowered or stole the show from Solange’s prideful exploration into her own blackness.
The album had been in the works for nearly three years, so that comes along with tons of writing and jam sessions — especially with some of the aforementioned features — and they’re highlighted in a new mini-documentary.
The 11-minute video doesn’t have any staring-at-the-camera commentary, but rather it’s just film of the various sessions that formed songs like “Don’t Touch My Hair” with Sampha and “Mad” featuring Lil Wayne.
