TIDAL Releases 'RD20' Documentary On JAY Z's Seminal Debut, 'Reasonable Doubt'

Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt Album Dropped 20 Years Ago.

With today marking the 20th anniversary of JAY Z‘s seminal debut album, Reasonable Doubt, TIDAL has put together an exclusive 35-minute documentary which details behind-the-scenes stories and the making of Hov’s classic magnum opus.

Simply titled RD:20, the narrative features interviews from JAY Z’s right-hand man/BFF (sorry, Bleek) Ty Ty Smith, DJ Premier, Roc-A-Fella silent partner Kareem “Biggs” Burke, Tone Hooker (responsible for coming up with the name “Roc-A-Fella”), Memphis Bleek and more — punctuated by in-studio performances of some of the album’s songs.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to be subscribed to TIDAL in order to watch it. If you do, head over here to watch it.

A trailer is available below.

BONUS: Genius/Rob Markman sat down with the aforementioned Kareem “Biggs” Burke to discuss the importance of JAY, some little-known history and the subsequent influence Reasonable Doubt would have on any other rap album that was released following that incredible day on June 25th, 1996.
