Fresh off receiving her very first GRAMMY nomination (“Mumbo Jumbo” was up for Best Music Video, which was pretty weird considering all anyone talks about when they mention Tierra Whack is her visual album Whack World), Tierra Whack returns with a new single, “Only Child.” Produced by KVYREN and Nick Verruto, the song serves as the Philly native’s first release since Whack World — and picks up right where her breakout project left off. Thankfully, it’s longer than 60 seconds.
“It comes from different experiences that I’ve had. Like, dating a guy and knowing like, ‘Yo, this dude has to be an only child. He’s selfish, he always wants his way.’ I just thought that would be a cool song topic,” Tierra tells Beats 1’s Ebro Darden. She also reveals that she’ll be dropping a new song every week from here on out.
