“NI NIGERIA” is the new smash tune from Tomi Tribe (@tomitribe) of Los Angeles and Toyé (@toyemusic) of Atlanta.
The song was written after a chance encounter with Toyé and recorded in December at Tomi Tribe’s music camp in Lagos, Nigeria. Tomi Tribe was inspired to create music after hearing a beat by Dante Beats that stood out from the rest of the pack. After Toyé and the producer hit it off on the record, they wasted no time getting their rendition down on vinyl. Developing the lyrics took a few days, but once they were complete, the song was recorded in its entirety.
Tomi Tribe, once back in Los Angeles, was obliged to release “NI NIGERIA” to the world since she knew it was one of the best songs she had recorded in Lagos. They spent a month recording, mixing, mastering, and planning the release before heading back to Lagos to show the world their work.
The song is a celebration of Nigerian heritage and identity. Another message it conveys is, “Don’t mess with me in this Nigeria” to anyone who might dare to cause trouble for Nigeria’s creative community.
