Rising 21-year-old South London artist Twyce has big plans to make his mark on the rap industry. Next up after his breakthrough hit “Grinding” is the very expressive “Attention” (Freestyle).
His strong voice emerges over gentle strings and floats over an impressionistic soundscape. The tune’s smooth and emotional atmosphere is a result of the well-achieved production by TK and Fred Irie, who also contributed to the track.
Twyce explains how the song came to be, saying, “When I first heard the melody on the guitar for Attention, it made me think back on prior connections with individuals and how they impacted me personally. That’s why I felt so compelled to write about what I did: it’s something I’ve experienced personally. It’s about how quickly things can change in life and in people’s attitudes. The more exposed you are in your music, the more people will try to screw with you because they will feel like they know you on a deeper level.”
