Spaghetti-Western Garage-Rock band Ugly Mothers return to post-pandemic life armed with boisterous, gritty and historically inspired new single ‘Armistice’. Taken from the forthcoming EP ‘Garden of Eden’ which is set for release at the end of April. ‘Armistice’ is packed with delicate melodies, mammoth fuzz, twang infused guitar and their signature sour, yet storytelling lyrics.
Marking as the third release from the Burberry scarf, trench coat sporting gang, ‘Armistice’ follows its predecessor the explosive ‘Garden of Eden’ and catchy debut single ‘Gringo’ which featured a gruesomely gory music video, insinuating what can happen if you double cross this fearsome foursome.
Since garnering a cult following due to a spout of riotous gigs across the country featuring fistfights, This Feeling and a support slot for Carl Barat, they’ve also racked up plenty of Radio play. Ugly Mothers are back swinging and pulling no punches.
Taking inspiration from Spaghetti Western film-soundtracks such as Ennio Morricone, Quentin Tarantino and James Bond themes, Ugly Mothers inject blockbuster Hollywood guitar riffs with a cynical snarl and lethargy.
“Stumbling straight out of sticky Leytonstone and Walthamstow pubs, fuelled by battered sausages from greasy chip-shops, Ugly Mothers juggle bar-work, superiority complexes, alcoholism and casual drug abuse, while using their dirty guitar music as an escape from an otherwise boring, humdrum and unsuccessful life, riddled with financial insecurity, limited career opportunities and disappointing romantic relationships.” – Ugly Mothers
