Watch VICELAND’s ‘Weediquette’ Series (Episode 1).
In the first episode of their new series Weediquette, VICELAND — VICE’s upcoming cable channel — explores the medicinal benefits of cannabis for children battling cancer. Host Krishna Andavolu travels to Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles to meet with families who believe THC is effectively treating — and perhaps even curing — their kid’s illness.
In one particularly inspiring case, Andavolu meets Lauranne, a young girl diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia who was given a 30% chance of survival, even after months of chemo and radiation therapy, as well as a bone marrow transplant. But according to her mother, cannabis oil is the only medicine that’s made a difference. “I never thought it would be something that I would be pursuing for my child,” she said. “I see what it’s doing for her. I think it’s helping aid her recovery like nobody’s business.”
Weediquette premieres March 1 at 11pm EST on VICELAND.
