Jords Drops New Single & Video “FIST IN THE SKY” Feat. Jordan Mackampa

From his next album project, “DIRT IN THE DIAMOND,” Croydon-born singer, songwriter, producer, and rapper Jords today releases the single “FIST IN THE SKY.” This Friday, May 26th, the album project ‘DIRT IN THE DIAMOND,’ featuring Coventry-based singer songwriter Jordan Mackampa, proudly debuts.

The song’s heart and authenticity in its instrumentation aligns with Jords’ childhood, when he was obsessed with his father’s roots in jazz, soul, and R&B, and is further elevated by Jordan Mackampa’s timeless and rich vocal. Finding grace in adversity, courage in weakness, and strength from conflict, he argues, is “fist in the sky.”

Jords also releases the short film ‘FIST IN THE SKY,’ the climax of the trilogy ‘DIRT IN THE DIAMOND,’ today. Look at THIS! The song’s emotions are reflected in the video, which was directed by award-winning British-Nigerian filmmaker Renee Osubu and has a compelling blend of historical material and more modern cuts that emphasise catharsis, joy, empowerment, and the intricacies of Black British expression.

In addition to the singles and accompanying videos for “iPray,” which features one of his heroes, Wretch 32, and “Stay Close,” which features Kranium and “Mo Bay,” which features Tay Iwar, comes “FIST IN THE SKY.” A touching demonstration of community and intergenerational discussion is at the forefront of Jords and Osubu’s exploration of the wonderful contrast of joy and loss. Part 1 (Mo Bay/Stay Close) can be viewed HERE, and Part 2 (I Pray) can be viewed HERE. The film is a step up from the standard music video, inviting listeners into a more dramatic and expansive musical arrangement.
