After more than a year-long hiatus, Lil Nas X makes a triumphant return with his latest single, “J Christ,” accompanied by a visually stunning music video directed by the artist himself.
The music video begins with Lil Nas X taking a stroll through the pearly gates before turning up in Heaven, where he engages in unexpected activities, including a one-on-one basketball game with Michael Jackson. The artist also takes on various roles, including a cheerleader, Jesus on the cross, and Noah battling the seas.
“Bust-down chain, that was thirty bands, bust down / Wrist, that’s my bust down, thirty-inch,” Lil Nas X raps in the song. “Walk up in the club popping shit like it was Doublemint / Looking for a ten, we only settle when it’s settlements.”
Co-produced by Lil Nas X, Take A Daytrip, Blake Slatkin, and Jasper Harris, “J Christ” is a bold and dynamic track that showcases Lil Nas X’s versatility and willingness to push creative boundaries. The artist’s last musical releases were in 2022, with “Star Walkin” and “Late To The Party” featuring NBA YoungBoy. Prior to that, he gained widespread acclaim for his album “Montero” in the preceding year.
In “J Christ,” Lil Nas X continues to challenge expectations and deliver a fresh perspective, blending his signature style with innovative visuals and thought-provoking imagery.
