Scuba born as Steven Corey Tate on November 28, 1991 was raised as an only child by his mother and grandmother in the suburbs of Richmond, VA where he still resides today.
Scuba discovered his gift of writing when he was given an assignment in 3rd grade to write about his favourite hobby. His teacher thought it was so well written that she sent it to publishers and it was nationally published and can be found in stores and libraries today. It was that moment that he knew his craft could take him far and hasn’t stopped writing since. At that early of an age he also had a true respect and understanding of hip hop and began to mimic every sound he heard involving that genre and had a pen and pad in his hand almost every waking moment writing to beats in his head. Being influenced by artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Charles Hamilton, Nas, and Eminem, he understands the importance of true artistry and keeping the music you make true to yourself.
