Wale drops a visual to “Groundhog Day.”
Late last year, Wale released the song “Groundhog Day,” a response to J. Cole’s “False Prophets” song which many felt was aimed at the MMG rapper and Kanye West. Folarin now drops an extended version of the Jake One-produced gem via music video. For the first half of the 8-minute clip, Wale roams around the sights and flash of Hollywood’s entertainment district while getting his issues with the industry off his chest.
The second half turns into a scrambled screen as Wale breaks into a spoken word piece as the extended version of “Groundhog Day” starts to kick in. Watch below as the D.C. native’s fifth solo LP S.H.I.N.E. (Still Here Ignoring Negative Energy) is due later this year.
