Watch Jay Z Perform “Bam” Live on SNL

Jay Z and Damien Marley perform the 4:44 collaboration “Bam” on SNL.

Jay Z returned to the Saturday Night Live stage this week as the first musical guest of the 43rd season. And, as many of you expected, he really delivered.

Hov performed two tracks off his critically acclaimed album 4:44; the first of which was “Bam” featuring Damian Marley. Hov wore Colin Kaepernick’s jersey during his performance, as a sign of support for his national anthem protest.

The second was a stripped down performance of “4:44,” an apology record to Beyoncé for Jay’s alleged infidelity. If you missed tonight’s season premiere, hosted by Ryan Gosling, you can check out the performances in the video above and below. You can also watch Gosling’s hilarious opener here.

Jay’s SNL appearance comes just weeks after two other major performances. At the beginning of September, he headlined the 2017 Budweiser Made in America Festival, where he he was joined by surprise guest Meek Mill. Shortly after, Jay co-headlined the Meadows Music and Arts Festival with a 90-minute set, which included performances of “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “Where I’m From,” “Family Feud,” and “The Story of O.J.” Jay dedicated the latter song to Colin Kaepernick and “anyone that was held back.”
