Nas has released a short film to accompany his latest album, NASIR, which dropped during G.O.O.D. Music’s five-album run this past summer. Written and directed by Rohan Blair-Mangat (JAY-Z “Bam,” Dvsn “Too Deep”), the 16-minute music video connects the majesty of African history with the oppression of modern-day African-American life, delivering a powerful reminder of the royal heritage in the ‘hood.
Although NASIR‘s supporting cast (Kanye, Diddy, The-Dream, 070 Shake) is absent, the video does include a cameo from Slick Rick — as well as plenty of cinematic shots of God’s Son himself.
