Blasting out the blocks with his first single of 2022, formidable British breakthrough artist, Wes Nelson has enlisted hip-hop heavyweight French Montana for soaring new track ‘Fly Away’. A sure-fire contender for song of the summer, fusing smooth R&B with Wes’ infectious hooks and French’s confident bars, and set over the iconic Diwali Riddim beat, Fly Away is a cool slice of feel-good summer pop.
Wes says “This record is a special one for me, it’s been a few months since my last release so wanted to make sure I came back with something I was totally happy with. I started writing it a couple of years ago on my own, then linked up with Ebenezer who sampled the iconic Diwali riddim for the beat. I was gassed! We finally finished it this year with French Montana who heard it and just wanted to jump on it which was mad to hear – linking up with him in New York was a lot of fun. I’ve really been taking the last few months to focus on my songwriting and performing across the UK. We’ve got a ton of great material ready to go now so I don’t anticipate any more long gaps between singles, I’m really excited for everyone to hear it all and hopefully the fans like what I’ve been working on.”
Fly Away is produced by Ebenezer and ADP and written by Wes and proves once again Wes’ talent as both a vocalist and a songwriter.
