2015 AMAs Performances: Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande & More.

 

The 2015 American Music Awards took place live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The 43rd annual show was hosted by Jennifer Lopez, who opened the show with a slowed down rendtion of her hit-song “Waiting for Tonight.” Dressed in a skin-tight body suit, Lopez and her dance crew paid tribute to some of 2015’s biggest hits with a dance medley to songs by Nicki Minaj, Beyoncé, Fetty Wap, Drake, Justin Bieber, Rihanna and more.

The Weeknd, who was awarded “Best Soul/R&B Album” by Prince, performed his No. 1 smash-hit “The Hills.” Ariana Grande turned the main stage to a black-and-white affair, giving the first live-performance of her new single “Focus.” Backed by a gospel choir, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and singer Leon Bridges debuted their new single “Kevin,” a touching record revolved around addition in our society.

Fresh off earning his sixth No. 1 album with Purpose, Justin Bieber had the honor of closing the AMAs. Introduced by Ciara, the Canadian superstar opened his medley with a acoustic version of “What Do You Mean?” before rain came storming down during “Where Are U Now” and “Sorry.”
