Despite the presidential debate running airwaves and Twitter last night (Oct 9), Alicia Keys surprised folks in her hometown with a wavy concert in the heart of Times Square. Tidal footed the bill, which in turn broughtJay Z, Q-Tip, Nas and more to the stage. After “She Don’t Really Care” received a warm intro from The Abstract, Nas joined Alicia for a performance of “One Love.” Questlove and John Mayer were also surprise guests for a rendition of “If I Ain’t Got You.”
However, the most explosive moment came when Hov joined A. Keys for “Empire State.”
