We are a few hours away from Apple Music. The much talked-about streaming service is about to launch today, June 30th, at 8 AM PST/11 AM EST. An hour later, at 9 AM PST/12 PM EST, the streaming of Beats 1 Radio will start, too. Then timing was revealed by Apple Music’s senior director and former CEO of Beats, Ian Roger.
Apple Music’s global radio station, Beats 1, which will launch with Zane Lowe’s show. Lowe, who left BBC Radio 1 this year to join Apple, announced last week that his first interview would be with Eminem. It is unclear whether their conversation will coincide with the kick-off, but it will air this week for sure.
Zane is not the only one, who will host his own radio show on Beats 1. Ebro Darden, of New York’s Hot 97, and London-based Julie Adenuga will also bless the station with segments. What is even more intriguing is Apple Music will roll-out shows starring Drake, Pharrell Williams, Elton John, St. Vincent, Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, Disclosure, and Jaden Smith. As you can imagine, we are most excited to hear Dr. Dre’s own show called The Pharmacy.
Apple Music costs $9.99 a month and also offers a family deal where six family members can sign up for a total of $14.99 a month.
We are sure you are looking forward to details and so are we. Stay tuned for an update.
