Hailing from the east of London, Kojo Funds is viewed as “The Godfather of Afroswing\", and for pioneering the melodic, culturally rich sound that reshaped the UK music landscape and inspired an entire wave of artists. Kojo first broke through the UK scene with ‘Dun Talkin’ featuring Abra Cadabra, which quickly became a street anthem, birthing an Afroswing movement. A blend of Afro Caribbean vibes, R&B and UK rap. Kojo’s raw London energy marked him as a new kind of UK artist — infiltrating schools, universities and clubs, as well as the UK charts. His success quickly grew via a run of major hits that cemented his pioneer status; an artist that bridged the gap between R&B rap and the sounds of Africa. As Kojo enters a new era, he remains one of the most culturally significant artists in contemporary British music, still directing this now universal sound. Kojo also earned an ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) award for inspiring Davido’s global hit ‘Fall’, who infused Kojo’s song title and hook ‘Dun Talkin’’ throughout the track, further catapulting Kojo into the stratosphere.
