Casanova was sentenced on Tuesday (June 27) to serve an additional 188 months in prison for his involvement in a gang-related racketeering conspiracy. He was already serving a two-year sentence.
Since he and 17 other members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation Bloods Gang had been indicted in a racketeering and drug conspiracy case in 2020, Casanova turned himself in to the NYPD.
The 36-year-old rapper from Brooklyn pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to murder, shootings, robberies, assaults on competitors and fellow members, distribution of cocaine and crack, and fraud last year.
“Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams. A gunfight broke out after “Senior personally fired a gun at a crowded Miami house party, seriously injuring and could have killed a victim.”
Williams elaborated, saying that “Senior’s reputation in the neighbourhood was crucial to Gorilla Stone’s successful recruitment and nationwide expansion.” Along with the other substantial terms handed down in this case, “today’s sentencing shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.”
