‘Next Big Thing’ Manny rapper Comfy shares latest Lo-fi drill offering
Repping Moston in Manchester, COMFY is a 20-year-old rapper whose brand of Lo-fi Drill has been turning heads since his P110 Hoods Hottest freestyle went viral last year. Reaching 6M views in one year, it became one of the biggest videos on the platform and went on to top the Spotify UK Viral Charts at #1, cumulating 20M streams on Spotify since then.
After catching the attention of tastemakers DJ Target (who invited him on his TV show) and Charlie Sloth (who added him to his Hood Heat Apple Music platform), COMFY was invited to be main support for Bugzy Malone on a string of shows which included Manchester’s AO Arena and O2’s Indigo in London.
With the tour now over, COMFY turns his focus to releasing new music, starting with the freestyle ‘Next Big Thing’. The track features his signature loft-rap style of introspective and honest wordplay, set to a stripped back production, and is somewhat of a nod to self-confidence and self-expression – as he explains:
“At the start of this journey I lost my mum and lost my little bro to the road, for me its deeper than just rap. Just after I wrote ‘The Next Big Thing’ I got the call to open for Bugzy on his arena tour, this freestyle really is me right now… the next big thing.”
