Common, Robert Glasper and Karrien Riggins started 2018 off by announcing the formation of their group,
August Greene. The musical trio have dropped the singles “Optimistic” featuring Brandy and “Black Kennedy,” both off August Greene’s self-titled debut album dropping on March 9. Recently, August Greene appeared on NPR’s popular Tiny Desk Concert series for a live 5-song performance.
Along with the songs “Black Kennedy” and “Optimistic,” the trio also performed “Practice” and “Let Go” off the album. Common also did the song “Stand Up for Something,” from the film Marshall.
