Album: Freddie Gibbs — ‘Soul $old $eparately’

Finally here is Freddie Gibbs’ eagerly anticipated fifth solo album, Soul $old $eparately.

The rapper from Gary, Indiana, has released 15 songs, including the gritty “Dark Hearted” and the previously released ballad anthem “Too Much” with Moneybagg Yo. With “Lobster Omelette,” Big Boss Rabbit collaborates with Rick Ross. For “Gold Rings,” he trades bars with Pusha T, and on the bonus track “Decoded,” he even calls on Scarface. Anderson.Paak, Raekwon, Offset, DJ Paul, Kelly Price, and Musiq Soulchild are among the other attendees. Producers who contribute their time behind the scenes include The Alchemist, Madlib, Boi-1da, Jake One, Justice League, DJ Paul, Kaytranada, and James Blake.

Freddie’s first solo effort since Freddie in 2018 is called $$$. Since then, he has produced a number of critically lauded joint works, including 2020’s Alfredo.
