Detroit-born singer-songwriter Ebony Riley officially unveils her debut album Beautiful Tragedy, a project rooted in vulnerability, accountability and personal evolution.
The album presents Riley at her most open, creatively and emotionally. With hands-on involvement across songwriting and artistic direction, she shapes a body of work that feels intentional and cohesive. The striking black-and-white artwork reinforces that clarity, symbolising the shedding of past expectations and the reclaiming of self.
Executive produced by Larrance “Rance” Dopson, the album brings together a refined circle of collaborators including Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, James Fauntleroy, Tommy “TBHits” Brown and Harmony Samuels. Sonically, Beautiful Tragedy bridges classic R&B textures with a contemporary finish, anchored by Riley’s dynamic vocal range, shifting effortlessly between soft, airy highs and grounded, soulful tones.
Focus track “You Better Know,” featuring fellow Detroit native Skilla Baby, introduces a lighter, playful energy, supported by a performance-driven visual directed by maliashutup.
