Jeezy’s Departure from Def Jam Marks the Beginning of a New Chapter with “I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget”

After nearly two decades with Def Jam, the Atlanta rapper Jeezy has embarked on a new chapter, marked by the release of his double-sided album, “I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget.” Released through his own CTE New World label, in partnership with Stem Distribution, the album features 29 tracks that reflect on life’s challenges, success, growth, and independence.

The album begins with “I Might Forgive…” which includes 15 tracks produced by ATL Jacob, Ricky Polo, Cubeatz, Hendrix, and more. Some notable songs from this part include “They Don’t Love Me,” “Trust No One,” “Rewrite History,” “Don’t Cheat,” and “Keep The Change,” among others.

On the “But I Don’t Forget” side, Jeezy serves up an additional 14 tracks, all produced by the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. Songs like “Nothing To Prove,” “Claim To Fame,” “Sade,” “Since Pac Died,” “Free Champagne,” and “No Choice” further explore Jeezy’s narrative.

“I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget” is the follow-up to Jeezy’s 2020 project, “The Recession 2.” In 2022, he released his Gangsta Grillz project, “Snofall,” hosted by DJ Drama, and published his memoir, “Adversity For Sale.” This release signifies a new and exciting chapter in Jeezy’s storied career, now on his own terms and charting his path to musical independence.
