Just like that, Kanye West has sent social media into a frenzy. On Saturday evening (Sept. 8), Kanye West announced the sequel to Watch the Throne. “throne2 coming soon,” tweeted West to his 28 million followers. Watch the Throne 2 would serve as a follow-up to West’s 2011 collaborative album with JAY-Z. Its been well-documented over the past few years that Kanye’s relationship with JAY-Z has been strained, with no news of the two dynamic artists coming together to resolve their issues. Kanye has not revealed if Throne 2 would include JAY-Z or if he would be replaced by another artist.
The platinum-selling Watch the Throne debuted at No. 1 on Billboard, with guest appearances by Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, The-Dream, Mr. Hudson, Otis Redding and Curtis Mayfield.
