The FIFA World Cup 2026™ is set to launch in historic fashion, with Los Angeles hosting a landmark opening ceremony that brings together football, music and global culture on an unprecedented scale.
Taking place on Friday 12 June at Los Angeles Stadium, the ceremony will kick off a summer tournament spanning the United States, Canada and Mexico. Headlining the celebration are global superstars Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla, with more major names still to be announced.
Designed as a high-energy spectacle, the ceremony will blend large-scale visuals, immersive storytelling and live performances to reflect both the diversity of the United States and the global unity of the tournament. Produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, the event aims to capture the cultural heartbeat of North America ahead of kick-off.
The show will begin 90 minutes before the opening match, with stadium gates opening four hours early to give fans access to activations and live programming throughout the venue.
For the first time in tournament history, three opening ceremonies will unfold across Mexico City, Toronto and Los Angeles, marking a truly continental launch.
The 2026 edition will feature a record 104 matches across 16 host cities, culminating in the final on 19 July in New York New Jersey.
