Matilda Mann Shares Captivating New Single ‘Japan’

Matilda Mann drops off the fourth offering, ‘Japan’ from her forthcoming EP confirmed for November 20th.

The new release ‘Japan’ is a follow to to her previously released singles ‘Happy Anniversary, Stranger’, ‘Robbed’ & ‘As It Is’. The captivating soulful track sees Matilda sing about romanticising a break-up and daydreaming of being able to fly away to get over someone.

Speaking on the track Matilda said:  “Over lockdown I binge-watched a tv show called “gossip girl”. (It’s basically about very rich teenagers living in NYC) and whenever they were heartbroken, they would always fly off to Paris or do something extravagant and I thought, if I was 17 and heartbroken (and rich), I’d fly to japan to cry and distract myself til I got over them.

Championed by the likes of BBC Introducing, COLORS and Mahogony, Matilda sold out her debut London headline show at Servant’s Jazz Quarters earlier this year as well as previously playing tour support for the likes of Arlo Parks, Beabadoobee and The Staves, whilst Glastonbury Festival revealed Matilda as third place their coveted Emerging Talent Competition for 2020. With a headline show confirmed for Omeara on 29th April 2021, if it’s a captivating vocal and interesting storytelling you’re after, there should be only one name on your lips.
