“This song stemmed from the feeling of nostalgia about a past summertime love. I wanted to write a song that captured the feeling of being free and in love where nothing else matters in the world except that present moment. I collaborated on Summertime with producer Shannon Sanders who’s made a name for himself by creating records for India Arie and John Legend. I knew he would be able to help me intertwine my influences from the world of Rnb/Soul and modern day Pop music.”
