Melisa Whiskey – Sweetest Cake [New Song]

Newcomer Melisa Whiskey shares new single “Sweetest Cake”.

Melisa was born in Hackney but grew up on Bray Tower – the same Camden tower block as Goldie. Introduced to Gospel music at a young age enrolling at her local church, she signed her first publishing deal without having released as single track aged 24. Now 26, she dropped her first track ‘Played’ in January this year and quickly picked up a BBC Introducing Track of the Week spot as well as heat from BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Twin B who made it his Track of the Week. The natural soul and depth of Melisa’s vocal was too strong to deny.
“‘Sweetest Cake’ is all about feeling good about yourself, reminding yourself of how fly you are regardless of what anything or anyone may want you to feel. I’d just split up with my ex and he was calling me all the time and I was feeling myself, lol,” she says of her latest release from forthcoming E.P., “Moon & The Sky”. With a menacing baseline and vocals to match, Whiskey’s new track is a welcome addition to the British Soul and R&B scene.
