The movie’s soundtrack has a contribution from the legendary producer and rapper, who rescues the day with his heroic composition.
The new animated superhero flick inspired Metro Boomin to put together a squad of hip hop superheroes, with NAV, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Swae Lee providing the latest release.
“Annihilate,” featuring Lil Wayne, Offset, and Swae Lee, opens the soundtrack. Coi Leray keeps things going strong on “Self Love,” and Nas closes off the evening with “Nas Morales.”
Star-studded cast, with some artists, including Future, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky, WizKid, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, JID, NAV, Don Toliver, James Blake, and others, making several cameos.
This is Metro Boomin’s first release since his critically acclaimed album Heroes & Villains, which included Future, Takeoff, Young Thug, Gunna, and Morgan Freeman, among many others, and topped the charts last year. Metro returned to the album earlier this year when he released a remix of his song “Creepin” starring The Weeknd and 21 Savage.
The computer-animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is based on the Miles Morales/Spider-Man character from Marvel Comics and is now playing in theatres. Actors such as Oscar Isaac, Lauren Velez, Brian Tyree Henry, Hailee Steinfeld, and Shameik Moore provide their voices to the film.
